How to: pack the bright colours and crispness of Canberra’s Spring into a lunchbox

Ah, Spring in Canberra – freezing one day, perfect the next. It’s all about bright wattle, stunning cherry tree blossoms and the occasional swooping magpie. Oh, and a rather famous festival named Floriade.

As we start the annual thaw from winter, it’s so easy to bring the colours and the fresh, crisp feeling of Spring into your little one’s lunchbox. September and October are prime time for mangoes, pineapple and strawberries, while in November we’ll start to see pawpaw, cherries and bananas galore.

After a quick whip through Woolworths and Aldi on the weekend – both under one roof, winning! – and a stop-in at Latorta, we’ve come up with these awesome options to truly capture ‘Spring in a lunchbox’.
